Canon is set to add at least 32 new models to the RF mirrorless lens lineup in the next four years. The company is also emphasizing on new exceptional design cameras like 'Powershot PX'. This information was provided  by 'Canon Rumors' quoting the latest financial report of the company. Canon chief Fujio Mitarai said that, the plan was made to meet the growing demand for expensive models of cameras and lenses in the market, even though the demand for affordable cameras has declined due to smartphones. In his words, "Canon has reached a stage where it can compete with Sony. Overall, the market seems to be on the verge of collapse." He added: "Over the years, we've tried to enhance the appeal of the EOS system by enriching our lineup with competitive full-frame mirrorless cameras and RF lenses. As a result, we have a strong position in the mirrorless camera market, from where we can target the top position in the market. ” Technology site Engadget says that if Canon manages to keep up with its targets, the number of the company's 'full frame' RF mirrorless lenses will go up to 60 at the end of four years.
